 Dopo
studi artistici, si iscrive all’Accademia delle Belle Arti
senza però portarla a termine. Rimane affascinato dalle
possibilità creative del web design quando vede l’animazione
di una farfalla nella prima edizione di theremedi project.com,
da questo momento, nei successivi cinque anni lavorerà
sul web. Vince il primo premio del “flash
forward” di S.Francisco per il miglior progetto
di motion graphic. Nel 2000 è stato nominato da Macromedia
il miglior developer, ha ricevuto inoltre riconoscimenti durante
il “media star internet award”
e “internet key award”.
After art-oriented high school, he enrolled at the fine art
academy, but didn’t finish. Stumpo became fascinated by
the creative possibilities of web design, when he saw an animated
butterfly on the first edition of theremediproject.com, and
for the following five years he worked on the web. This last
year he won first prize at “flash
forward” in San Francisco for the best motion graphic
project. In 2000 he was named Macromedia best developer and
he is a past recipient of the "media
star internet" award and the
"internet key" award.

I limiti del web
Quanto fuorviante puo essere l'informazione
senza la conoscenza? Trovandomi di fronte ad un problema e non
conoscendo il linguaggio usato inizio a risolverlo usando le
informazioni disponibili in Internet. I risultati sono spesso
fuorvianti e sono quindi obbligato ad indovinare il vero significato,
ma con una conoscenza aggiuntiva potrei cominciare a capire
le informazioni in modo migliore. Un recente progetto dello
studio Ständige Vertretung mostra che la comunicazione
dell'informazione richiede una comprensione dell'area tematica
e dei problemi associati. Ottenere questa conoscenza è
una parte vitale del processo di progettazione.
Web limits
How misleading infomation without knowledge can be? Finding
myself faced with a problem and having no knowledge of the language
used I set about solving it using information I can access in
the Internet. The results are often misleading and I am forced
to guess the true meanings but with a little added knowledge
I can begin to understand the information better. If I have
time I may show a project from the studio: a recent design project
from the studio Ständige Vertretung shows that effective
communication of information requires an understanding of the
subject area and associated problems. Obtaining this knowledge
is a vital part of the design process. |
